What makes duoFIT different from other maternity brands?
Good question, mama! We’ve taken our experience from our team of mamas, gathered information and done the research to make our designs top notch. Our custom maternity panel is designed differently to stretch and support your bump, while still allowing you the flexibility to fold the panel down. This functionality makes our maternity leggings perfect for all stages of pregnancy and postpartum.
Here is a quick list of all the things we take into account when designing maternity pieces:
- Performance grade materials that are durable, antibacterial, anti-fade and spit-up proof.
- We construct our pieces with anti-chafing seams. No one needs that.
- We design our Nursing Sports Bras to provide support without constricting you. We also test all of our sports bras with real breastfeeding mamas. We are committed to making sure they work for you.
- The adjustable band on the Carter Crop and Kace Race Day Leggings is designed to create a little hug for your bump. This “hug” lifts your bump and gives you just the little extra support right when you need it.
Where is duoFIT made?
duoFIT is designed and constructed in Kansas City, Missouri; the heart of America. We are committed to keeping our production local. We also look for and work with women-owned businesses at every opportunity.
Are your models really pregnant?
Yes! All of our models are pregnant women models in different stages of pregnancy. We also don’t do any retouching so you can see the real beauty of pregnancy and each woman exactly how they are!
What does it mean when you say that duoFIT activewear is designed “for pregnancy and beyond”?
We’ve taken into account the 4th trimester. You know, those 3 (or so) months after delivery where your body is still changing. Our maternity activewear is designed to carry you and baby through pregnancy, offering support and coverage with our maternity panel and supportive sports bras. All of our bottoms can have the panel folded down for post pregnancy (or even early pregnancy). You’ll notice a little extra support with the panel folded down while still being comfortable and mindful of postpartum needs. Our Sports Bras are also designed for mothers who are breastfeeding, offering easy access and made from comfortable and supportive material.
Is it safe to buy on your website?
Yes! We are a secured website hosted through Shopify who works to protect your consumer information. duoFIT does not keep or store any of your payment information. We only use your personal and contact information for important customer communication and emails around promotions. You are free to opt out at any time. But we try really hard to not overfill your inbox. We know you know where to find us so we will only send you important things!
How does Afterpay work?
Afterpay is a third party secure payment option that splits your total into four easy payments interest free. If you’re new to Afterpay, you will be prompted to set up an account. After that, you will be charged your first payment at checkout and then your card will be charged every two weeks for the remaining payments. But don’t worry,
duoFIT will send your order as soon as we receive your first payment.

What are your sizes?
Our sizes are categorized in XS, S, M, L and XL. We suggest that our customers shop using their pre-pregnancy sizes. Our designs have taken into account maternity needs. By following the measurements in the size chart below you will be able to achieve the closest fit.

KIT x duoFIT FAQ:
How exactly does the KIT x duoFIT Process work?
When shopping on builtlikeamother.com select KIT. Pay $20 styling fee + tax + shipping and receive you KIT x duoFIT within 3-5 business days. Once you receive the KIT, you have 14 days (two weeks) to try on and decide what items to keep and if there are any that you would like to return.
We will email you after one week to check in and then again in 12 days from the original receipt date to remind you that your time to check out is approaching.
Once you have decided what you want to keep, email email@example.com to let us know if you will be returning any items. If you are keeping them all, great! We will create an invoice with a 21% discount. The invoice will be emailed to you and you can checkout from there.
If you need to return an item(s), email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know what you will be returning and what you will be keeping. We will create an invoice that accounts for the items you are keeping, minus the $20 styling fee. You can check out from the invoice that is sent to you. We will also email you a return label. Please return the items that you do not want to keep in the original condition with the tags still attached.
What exactly does the $20 Styling Fee cover?
The $20 styling fee covers the processing of your order. It also covers return shipping and restocking fees. If you keep two or more items the $20 will be deducted from your final purchase amount.
How long do I get to try the items?
You get 14 days (two weeks) from receipt date to try on and decide what duoFIT items work for you.
How do I send the products back that I don't want?
If there are items from your KIT x duoFIT that you wish to return, please email email@example.com to let us know what items you will be returning. From there, we will create a return shipping label that will be emailed to you. You can put the item(s) you wish to return back in the original packaging with the return label affixed to the outside. Please ensure all items you are returning are included, unworn and in the original condition with the tags still attached.
Will I get a full refund if I don't want to keep any items?
Technically, you won’t need to be refunded since you will not have purchased any items. The $20 is non refundable since it covers the processing of your order, return shipping, handling and restocking fee. However, if you purchased an item from KIT x duoFIT and decide later that it is not for you, you can get a refund if it is within our normal Refund & Exchange Policy.
How does the checkout process work?
Since KIT x duoFIT is a new product offering for us, we are handling the majority of the transactions manually. But don’t worry, we have kept it simple for you. Once you have received your KIT and decided if you are keeping all of the items or only a select few items, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know what items you're keeping.
We will create a new order with the items you plan to keep and you will receive a digital invoice where you can pay online for those items. The $20 from the original KIT x duoFIT order will not be refunded as it is used to cover the processing of your order, return shipping and handling. You will also be receiving an email with your return shipping label. You can put the item(s) you wish to return back in the original packaging with the return label affixed to the outside. Please ensure all items you are returning are included, unworn and in the original condition with the tags still attached.
**Remember, if you keep all the items in your KIT x duoFIT, the $20 is deducted from the total retail cost in addition to your 21% discount.
What if I need a different size?
We are happy to work with you to ensure you have the right sizes. If an item(s) needs to be exchanged for a different size and is within our normal Refund & Exchange Policy we will exchange the item(s). Please feel free to reach out on any of our social channels or email

How do I select the sizes I need?
When shopping online, you will see the categories Leggings Size, Top Size and Bra Size. You will select a size for each and this will be used for your KIT.

How do I return the items I don’t want to keep?
Place the items to be returned in a mailer with the packing slip (and if you have the original mailer, please use that). Once the items are packed in the mailer or box, please ensure it is taped shut. Then affix the return mailing label to the outside and drop it at the appropriate shipping location.
